# Good stuff, Maynard?

This morning a DJ used the above phrase. It seems to me that it was from a TV commercial. Can someone else refresh my memory?

I always thought the saying came from the tv series “The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis”, starring Bob Denver as Maynard G. Krebs. Although, this show was waaaaay before my time. So the phrase may be older than that and just used in the T.V. series?

This is from very faulty memory and is probably wrong, but I seem to recall hearing at one time that the line is from an old commercial. Maypo, maybe?

Malt-o-meal was the first product that came to mind. But the only commercial I could remember from them had the line

“Edgar. Edgar. This is your tummy, Edgar.”

circa 1976
