That’s about right, phonetically. Your memory is not that bad. 🙂 Technically, it IS pronounced “melk”, but as we do with a lot of double consonants, we toss in a phonetic vowel to make the word flow more easily. And to hopelesly confuse foreigners! Skeezix, I’ll remember those Depends jokes, although my dear sister has already covered the market on those.
