The thread about landing a plane on the road didn’t branch off into whether roads should be government or privately owned. Not sure about the rant against the Republicans. I think the OP was a libertarian. ---

… who fled the SDMB when it was pointed out his poster boys for Libertarianism received the benefit of $70,000 of R&D effort performed by the very government he wants less of in our lives. Instead of using that “a-ha” moment to reflect upon what he thought, he used it as an excuse to flee to a safer space. ---

I consider myself to be on the centre-left of the political spectrum and support social democratic policies, but I do disagree with identity politics on the left and it’s possible that I’ve become more conservative with age. ---
