Finally, assuming that there’s child porn to be found with search engines, only the most casuals child porn seekers are going to be hindered. To begin with, there are other search engines besides google and bing. And as mentioned in the article, social networks. And the “dark web”. And IRC channels. Etc… ---

Too late to edit : Maybe, maybe it could be a deterent for those very casual child porn seekers. Receiving a message stating essentially “We’ve seen you, you perv! Stop searching for child porn” _might_ make them think twice. But I don’t really believe it. It seems to me to be just another instance of the current child abuse hysteria. The one that resulted in some Australian guy being sentenced for having porn pictures of the Simpsons on his computer, for instance. I can see access to Simpson porn being reduced by whatever Google and Bing are implementing. ---

No idea how this works, but surely they are trying to block results that show child porn, not results that show news stories or organisation home pages. Visually, they are pretty different. ---

It seems like a lot of pedos can be rather asperger syndromy with their behavoirs…so it doesn’t suprise me that lots of them might do stupid stuff ---

Probably a net bad thing, only because it’s probably only going to block things that should be protected by free speech anyway (drawings, literature, 3d-art, etc) even when there are laws against it. But, meh. Google and Bing can do whatever they want to their search algorithms. ---
