I like the art, but I hate the animations (I hate all animations on web pages–I’ve got flashblock and turn javascript off just so there won’t be animations). Is there a way to kill the animation and only leave the image? ---

That’s why there’s no permalink yet. They do keep an archive of old “doodles” [here](http://www.google.com/logos/) but they don’t archive them until they are off the main page. ---

I was annoyed by the Canada election day one, but that’s because it showed US-style voting booths (a full booth with a curtain) instead of what we have in Canada (a cardboard shield set up on a table). ---
