# Google maps and geographic coordinates

Sometimes I see people post links to google maps and the links contain the coordinates of the location. How do you do that? And can you have google show you coordinates of a place by clicking on the place on the map?

Clear the search field and then center up the map on the area you are interested. Hit the “Link to this page” button in the upper right hand corner. A URL with coords will appear in the URL field of your browser.

Not that I know of.

Google Earth will. In the lower left part of the map, just below the compass, the N/S coordinates are shown for whatever section of the map the little hand is on.
