# Google Maps: Mount Rushmore, Portland, OR?

According to Google Maps (and Google Earth) Mount Rushmore is in Portland OR. Now they locate it correctly, but seem to label it incorrectly. Is there any logical explanation?

I don’t know, but ever since Google Maps [went to the USGS data](http://google-latlong.blogspot.com/2009/10/your-world-your-map.html) in October, I’ve found all kinds of errors like that. A lot of roads are now outdated, directions take you to the wrong place, there are missing highway ramps, things like that. I’ve reported everything I’ve found with their new “Report a Problem” tool, but who knows how long it will take to get sorted out.

They switched map providers recently.
