I sometimes tell newbies that posting drug-related stuff on GQ isn’t kosher when they ask how to make crystal meth. I really hope that isn’t making folks mad! Also, I try and give suggestions concerning imminent bannings. You see, I was banned for doing something that violated the user agreement, and I just want to make it easier for people to realize that the best way to resolve that situation is to apologize and mean it. ---

I am sure that there is something that I want to say about this thread, but I am not sure exactly what it is. This is why I don’t post all that often. The words just don’t seem to want to come most of the time. I think this thread is very sad. **jarbabyj** and **DDG** , you both seem to have a great deal of yourselves invested in this board. I admit, so do I. My beautiful young wife is sick to death of me telling her about this, that, or the other thing that “happened on the SDMB last night.” 😕 Where am I going with this? I dunno. But this thread, I think, points to another reason that I don’t post here very often. …I was going to go into a story about how this all relates to me, but I will start another thread about it tonight. You know it never occured to me to google for the answer to a posted question. If I don’t know the answer, I just skip it. I can appreciate her concern for “all the damn newbies” and I am sure she doesn’t really mean to sound like a condescending bitch as she corrects, chides and reprimands other posters. I honestly think she just can’t help it. I can appreciate how she is attempting to help out the poor overworked moderators by pointing out the “unwritten rules” but I don’t recall any of them asking for help. I believe there are at least a couple of mods assigned to each forum. Plus, if they needed the help, I am almost certain that a mod from another forum could be persuaded to help out in a pinch. I don’t know how long it has been since DDG attended grade school but maybe she should remember how the only thing people hate worse than a pseudoKnow-it-all is a would be teacher’s pet. I have to say I have enjoyed this thread if only for the opportunity to see DDG reveal her true colors and to see her write fuck and cunt. ---

Strewth what a friggin thread. Everyone has posts they regret, probably, and the higher the personal post count, the more likely that the poster will forget. I find some irony here that the OP makes, what on the face of it, seems a mild first post, and then everyone else is then shocked when the second response hits hard. This is the **Jarbaby** folks. How many observing this have opened up any pit thread started by this poster to see the creative and coruscating profanities contained therein just for a bit of vicarious voyeurism ? Well sometimes the biter gets bit, you can argue about how appropriate this is, but the shock and horror as a reaction to that fiery reply is laying it on a bit rich. If I have a problem with a poster or a thread, I don’t open it or reply, except on occasional and unfortunate exceptions. …and there lies the rub, you could bring up most high number posters and find a reason to rip them a new one, but the OP’s complaint is just lame. The first reply “Bite me” was appropriate, but it seems to me that there were those just waiting for a good showdown by stating that this response was weak. Well to all those posters, what did you get ? are you happy now? It was not your argument but you wanted to stoke things up eh? I think that quite a few posters here could do to look at themselves a bit more closely. There are replies from just a few posters here I find meritworthy, there are many replies that are not, and that is my opinion and I’m entitled to it - before anyone decides to jump in and tell me that I have no place here to voice it. pffff, enough already!! ---
