I happened to be in Venice, Italy, when a Google Street view type dude was walking around on the streets and alleys with a camera contraption on his helmet. I keep checking Google but they haven’t published Venice yet. So, it might not be Google, it might have been someone else. ---

My friends know to the hour when the StreetView car went by… there’s a truck in the driveway which has offloaded 3 of 4 pallets of insulation, and one of them can be seen opening the door of their car. ---

I can’t find a spot to link to right now, but I’ve seen the option to do 3-D street view. It’s a little yellow cartoon head with 3-D glasses on, right below the zoom in/out buttons. ---

Subways and other subterranean locations (Google goes caving!)? Of course, if they got a lot of this, they might have to tweak the “drag the little man” interface a bit to give you a way of choosing between overlapped locations. Currently, for overpasses and tunnels you seem to get the “more important” one (not necessarily physically on top, for a tunnel or a freeway passing under an overpass). And the one chosen doesn’t always correspond to the way it may be drawn. Try navigating the Liberty Tunnel in Pittsburgh. ---
