Eh, Google has been evil since about 1998; it simply took a while to bring all the pages up to date. ---

… This is unrelated to the news that Google has started selling AI technology to the US military, right? Please someone tell me it’s a total coincidence. :eek: ---

The code of conduct still contains “don’t be evil”, but in the closing phrase instead of as the central motto (and the Gizmodo article admits that). I’m having a hard time being indignant about this. But, as **Rysto** points out, the timing sucks. ---

It’s just a matter of principle. Setting that up as your motto says a little bit about your values. It’s fair for the cynical to snicker and take a “wait and see” attitude, but still, it shows a certain thoughtfulness. But taking it out? That is a statement of intent; it’s full-on creepy. ---

The fact that you have to put “don’t be evil” in your initial business plan show exactly where you know it’s going.
