What Left Hand of Dorkness said. Twitter’s suspension of McConnell for showing threats made against HIM would be like suspending the account of a Jewish person for showing anti-Semitic threats that had been made against the Jew. It’s completely backwards, 180 degrees.

**Left Hand of Darkness** ’s analysis is spot-on.

And it also touches on the fact that social media companies are very bad at policing their terms of service. The difference between making a video threatening someone and sharing a video of someone threatening _you_ is contextual and often fairly subtle. There’s simply no way that whoever is trying to police reported tweets is going to get this right as often as they’d need to.
