Oh come on Sam. A difference of opinion as to the best candidate does not amount to “a major split.”
And if there is a “major split” as you say then why do so many Democrats on the street list (alternately) Dean/Clark or Clark/Dean as the dream ticket?
Here’s a thought: maybe voters and Democratic bigwigs alike are making principled choices about the candidates they think have the best ideas and/or the best chance to prevail in November.
(And by the way, it was Kerry who was the choice of the Democratic establishment this go-round. You see where that got him.)
