That Italy failed to qualify for the World Cup. I feel bad for them because I understand the passion Italians have for the Azzuri. On the other hand, when I heard that alert, I was thinking omg another terror attack. So all is almost good in the world.

Maybe Italy and us can have our own private World Cup. 🙂

I’m not one to be bitter and hold a grudge or nuffin but after the Francesco Totti dive to eliminate us in the 2nd round in 2006, schadenfreude does come to mind.

You are Aussie, right? That was a horrible call. They were the victims in 2002 against the South Koreans. As were the Spanish.

Noteworthily, every team South Korea played in that World Cup knockout round won the next World Cups in the order that they were played. Italy won in 2006, Spain won in 2010, Germany won in 2014.  
Turkey isn’t going to win it next year though 😉
