My first coffee grinder was just like that. I’m “old school” and nostalgic on many things, so I _thought_ I would love it. **Wrong**. Grinding the coffee by hand got _very_ old _very_ quickly. Especially since I do it every day. So I am now using [this](http://www.amazon.com/KRUPS-Electric-Coffee-Grinder-Stainless/dp/B00004SPEU/) one. Only $16. Works well, and only takes about 5 seconds to grind. (My only complaint is that the grind is a bit too fine for coffee. As a result, putting too much in the coffee maker will make it overflow.) ---

I’ve been the one grinding since we opened it Christmas. Works pretty good. A few beans jump out of the hopper if I turn to fast. Otherwise no problems. Its not a big deal picking them up from the counter top. Tasty coffee. It was her gift. She’s been dropping hints that she wanted to try a coffee grinder for awhile. ---
