Cool. The actor they cast for Stannis was good in the John Adams series, and judging from my googling he grow a good Baratheon bear. I think he can pull off the drained look he’s so often described with. ---

Yeah, the eye makeup on Melisandre’s actress is weird. Should be awesome, though. And what a timely thread; I’ve been wondering about these very characters for the past few days now. ---

I’m a bit concerned about how young the pick for Stannis looks. He’s my mom’s age, and older than Mark Addy, but he doesn’t really look it. I was surprised during John Adams that he was as old as he is, and he hasn’t aged a lot since then. ---

I think Melisandre is one of the weakest characters in the book and comes off as a cliche from sword-and-sorcery pulp fantasy. I hope the HBO writers make her more interesting and it will certainly help to have a good actress. This one certainly looks the part. ---

Stannis is younger than Robert, so he shouldn’t look THAT old. I’ll admit that the actor for Davos looks older than I would have expected. ---

Davos has sons old enough to captain ships, so he can’t be all that young. All of these picks are highly satisfactory IMHO. ---

Yup, they all look good to me. The casting director should get an Emmy for GOT season 1 anyway.
