On the ABC Sunday morning political show, he was specifically asked about running for VP. He said he’d rather be governor. Of course, he has to say that at this point in the game.
Thanks for the input, Dopers. It seems to me that the upshot is that he has some possibility to break into the pack of frontrunners if he can effectively show his campaigning skills, and an even greater shot to be considered for the VP slot if one of the candidates with a weak foriegn policy background is nominated.
Let’s not automatically dismiss someone who can very likely deliver New Mexico’s electoral votes.

Not really. Every once in a while legislation gets brought up to ban cockfighting. Personally, I don’t have a problem with it either way.
NM is *not * in the South. It’s in the West.
The Dems haven’t worried much about that region recently because there are so few electoral votes to be had there. It’s still generally true.
