>
> And I’ll tell you.. wealth creation has nothing to do with using a public employee union as a prybar to extract more and more money from the taxpayer.

No, being stupid is mostly harmless, trying to push stupid ideology and lies as facts is against the public interest.

Have you ever checked history and noticed how wealthy Roosevelt was? And a good number of the new American rich are not conservative.

Well.. They surely didn’t come about their wealth by being liberals. People like Gates and Forbes came into their wealth by being hard-core capitalists. Perhaps it’s the guilt of having so much that makes them become bleeding hearts?

Tap dance all you like, but what you said was a stinky lie, you said liberals can not ever know about wealth creation, I have read about Gates, and he knows how lucky he was, and just by taking his atheism into account, there are a lot of conservative causes that he would not be much attracted to.

As I said, I’m glad you are posting more, now besides the dumb column we can add you into the liars one.

The liberal model does not account for wealth creation. all rich socialists are former capitalists or trust fund babies.

Isn’t the liberal mantra all about fairness and equality? How can it be fair that Gates stole all of that wealth from the worker? It’s no wonder he’s attempting to give it all away.

When you hit high score, you play a different game.

It’s pretty funny that you use a monopolist as an example of what you think a wealth creator is.

False dichotomy.

It’s funny when conservative brag about what great wealth creators they are. Just look at the solid conservative south to see the results of conservative policies. Last in almost every possible metric: wages, per-capita GDP, education, health, life expectancy, divorce rate, out of wedlock birth, etc. The wealth in the US is disproportionately created in the liberal states. California, the home of Silicon Valley, had an education system that was the envy of the world until conservatives destroyed it and now its economy is hurting. The medium we are using now came about because of govt sponsored research. A strong public/private partnership is what made this country an economic powerhouse.

I know you guys are still mad that you can’t push around black people, beat up fags, or pay women less for the same job, but get over it. I don’t think the country is ready to go back to the days before the 40 hour work week and overtime pay, when limbs were lost in unsafe machinery and miners had black lung and all the other crap associated with a “free market”.

AFAIK Gates is just leaving several million dollars to his kids, The huge big rest will go to his foundations and charity work.

So yes, one can be rich and liberal, and wealth needs to be taxed for the public interest.

> The property of this country is absolutely concentered in a very few hands, having revenues of from half a million of guineas a year downwards. These employ the flower of the country as servants, some of them having as many as 200 domestics, not labouring. They employ also a great number of manufacturers, and tradesmen, and lastly the class of labouring husbandmen. But after all these comes the most numerous of all the classes, that is, the poor who cannot find work.
>
> I asked myself what could be the reason that so many should be permitted to beg who are willing to work, in a country where there is a very considerable proportion of uncultivated lands? These lands are kept idle mostly for the aske of game. It should seem then that it must be because of the enormous wealth of the proprietors which places them above attention to the increase of their revenues by permitting these lands to be laboured. I am conscious that an equal division of property is impracticable. But the consequences of this enormous inequality producing so much misery to the bulk of mankind, legislators cannot invent too many devices for subdividing property, only taking care to let their subdivisions go hand in hand with the natural affections of the human mind.
>
> The descent of property of every kind therefore to all the children, or to all the brothers and sisters, or other relations in equal degree is a politic measure, and a practicable one. \*\*Another means of silently lessening the inequality of property is to exempt all from taxation below a certain point, and to tax the higher portions of property in geometrical progression as they rise. \*\*
>
> Whenever there is in any country, uncultivated lands and unemployed poor, it is clear that the laws of property have been so far extended as to violate natural right. The earth is given as a common stock for man to labour and live on. If, for the encouragement of industry we allow it to be appropriated, we must take care that other employment be furnished to those excluded from the appropriation.

That what you seek is called a straw man, you little grasshopper (or slimer?). No liberal here said that compromises are not possible, in fact many liberals here are of the pragmatic kind.

I think you are going for the old and discredited notion that liberals are also socialists or communists.

One again, only if you erroneously believe that liberals are communists.

The evidence is there that there are indeed liberals that create wealth and that they do believe that they also have a duty to help their society.

Show me a definition of progressive that includes being a socialist or communist or we will just add this to another lie of yours.

I only see evidence of former hard-core capitalists with a guilty conscience…

Just look around this board.. All you’ll find are very emotional pleas to take more cookies away from all those rich bastards. Because it’s just not fair.
