Except apparently, that Rahm can’t utter a sentence off camera without dropping the f-bomb. I keep wondering why they don’t put him in front of a camera to satisfy the press and then I remember Josh Lyman is based on Rahm, and then I remember what happens when Josh ran a press briefing.
I don’t think Obama has to backpedal off shit. Fitzgerald has already said that Obama is clean on this and he’s the one who has all the evidence. Why are people so eager to try to throw shit on Obama even when the prosecutor says he’s completely uninvolved?

Dude, you are being way too defensive about Obama, here. No one here is saying that he is involved in this, and as far as I can tell, most people are saying it looks very much as though he isn’t involved. But I believe he was probably hasty in saying that NO ONE from his transition team had spoken to Blago’s camp about this matter. If he finds out that someone has, he’s going to have to backpedal off saying that no one had. That’s what backpedaling is. I said right in the same post where I mentioned backpedaling that having a conversation about who Obama would LIKE to see in the seat doesn’t mean that there was any conversation about making a “deal” for it.

This was my first thought as well. Maybe it’s still the Obamania in me, but I have to believe he wouldn’t stick his neck out this far this early if he wasn’t absolutely sure. No one has yet produced any evidence that there is even a wiff taint on any of Obama’s people so until then everyone just needs to settle down.

Oops. My bad. In that case, I think Obama’s on the right track. He didn’t REALLY get in bed with Blago while he served here, there’s no real reason to believe that he’s in bed with him now. He’s got nothing to apologize for or back off of or from.
My question is how does Blagojevich not understand that he’s not going to be governor much longer?

Now the Illinois AG (who herself has been mentioned as a gubernatorial prospect) has asked the Illinois Supreme Court to relieve Blago from his duties and permit Quinn to take over as Acting Governor.
He said it at the press conference.

Blago is all about Blago’s interests. What is in the best interests of the state is irrelevant. and as far as him being clueless, as recently as a few weeks ago he still thought of himself as a serious candidate for US president in 2016, despite having a 13% approval rating at the time.

But note that isn’t what you said he said. “Makes no allegations” vs “he’s completely uninvolved”. Not that I’m saying I think he is involved, it’s just that you are overstating the case.
I fail to see a difference. You’ll have to explain it. How is not accused of having anything to do with it not the same thing as being uninvolved?
