I think that was referring to the fact that Mr. Paterson is relatively light-skinned for a person of African descent. A century ago he might have gotten away with “passing” as from another ethnic group.

Yeah, okay, I’ll chalk it up to either a talking head being a moron, or possibly the talking head thinking Paterson wouldn’t have the power.

Jesus Christmas! Who the fuck CARES?!

I thought we’d gotten past the Gary Hart days…guess I was wrong.

For the record: I don’t give a damn if my surgeon sleeps with prostitutes. I don’t give a damn if my banker has gay orgies. I don’t give a damn if the cashier at the 7-11 fellates college football players in the back room for blow. And I don’t give a flying goddamn if a governor cheats on his wife!

Spitzer, yes, fine. He used public money to pay for prostitutes. That’s bad because it’s public money. If he had used his own personal bank account, I wouldn’t, again, give a damn.

Why is it so necessary for Paterson to start tossing things out of his closet? What kind of world do we live in where it’s necessary to preempt a predatory media (predatory for all the wrong stories for all the wrong reasons) before you’ve even managed to get the cushions on your gubernatorial chair warmed up?
