# Grammar Question: Hanged vs Hung

True, but it is possible he was also tied to it (so it could be said he was hung from it), people are terribly unsure as to how crucifixions actually went about; and there’s good evidence there wasn’t any “standardized” procedure.

Being hung from the cross would be what killed Him, since I thought the execution happened through suffocation.

Acts 5:30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you had put to death by hanging Him on a cross.

Acts 10:39 We are witnesses of all the things He did both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They also put Him to death by hanging Him on a cross.
