It is a little hard to elect a guy with no experience and complain he is doing things wrong. BHO has never had the experience of shepherding legislation thru and seeing what comes out the other end.
“If you love law, or sausage, you should never watch either being made.” And that’s with a majority of his own party in both houses. From all appearances, that will not be the case come next January.
And he tried that confrontational shit with his “FoxNews isn’t a news organization” and it didn’t fly too far.
I get the feeling that, whether he is re-elected come 2012 or not, we have seen everything we are going to see. He jacked the deficit thru the roof, and is persisting in doing so now that we are no longer in recession, and passed a health care bill that nobody much likes.
On the contrary, that’s exactly what his experience was. We elected a legislator, & we got one. And he’s a decent legislator. The whining is from those who want a leader in the pulpit preaching with fire & brimstone. But it’s like Obama said: “We are the change we have been looking for.” Obama’s an organizer, a deal-maker, not “the decider.” We have to act, & the Democrats are blaming Obama for our own failings. That’s all this is.

Straight up fact. Please post an argument, with at least some citation support, if you honestly believe otherwise.
ETA: unless you’re hanging your hat on “balloon”; you’ll get no argument from me that the deficit has gone up under Obama. That’s a fact. “Ballooned” though? Simply not true.
Well, I considered pointing out that your allegation that I used the term “balloon” is straightforwardly false, but Shodan’s Law says if you didn’t read it the first time, you won’t read it the second either.
When you consider the surplus Clinton left Bush, the full employment with a strong economy, and no wars, You have to feel sorry for the mess Obama was handed. Nothing like becoming president and being told the world financial system is about to collapse. You know unemployment will soar, the debt will soar , and you have to allow it to happen. A fine mess.
I, for one, feel Obama could have done more. He’s put too much effort into seeking accomodations with people who do not want accomodations. He should have realized this early on and been more confrontational.
He should have said, “The Conservatives who use to run this country need to realize that we won and they lost. If they want to work with us, we’ll listen to their suggestions. But we’re running things now. We’ll pass the laws we think are good and in two years you’ll have a chance to kick us out of power if you don’t like what we did.” He needed to fire back on the us vs them.
Instead what he’s ended up with is a situation where the Republicans have prevented him from being able to do anything and are using that as a reason why they should be allowed to take over again. And there’s a good chance it’ll work. And if it happens, we’ll really be in trouble - if the Republicans get back in power in Congress the only accomplishment we’ll see in the next two years are attacks on Obama as a prelude to the 2012 election. Maybe they can get Ken Starr to come out of retirement.
