I have some pictures that I would like to put on my new homepage, but they are in the “TIF” format, and I need them to be in the “GIF” or “JPEG” to put them up. Windows won’t convert them using the “save as…” function.
Any ideas?

[Here](http://src.doc.ic.ac.uk/computing/systems/ibmpc/simtel/msdos/graphics/alch177.zip)’s a page full of links to conversion utilities.

I’ve noticed some web pages have graphics in .BMP format. If you’re using Windows, you can convert a .TIF to a .BMP with the included Wang Imaging utility.

Do a search for graphic utilities. There are plenty of freeware and shareware programs out there. PaintShop is shareware. ACDSee is also good. Microsoft Photo Editor is free. LView is shareware.

Try several as I have not compared the accuracy of the conversions.

Graphics Workshop is a handy shareware program for viewing and converting graphic files.
