My grandfather, who used to hang around a pro race car garage, installed belts in our family cars in the early 60’s. By the time I learned to drive in 1966 I was already a buckle-upper. ---

There are several “inspired by Route 66” CDs with some great tunes on them. I just ordered [More Songs of Route 66: Roadside Attractions](http://www.amazon.com/More-Songs-Route-66-Attractions/dp/B00005M96D/) for my upcoming trip to the Southwest. If you’re a Car Talk fan, you might get a kick out of [Born Not To Run](http://shop.npr.org/listen/music/car-talk-born-not-to-run), a collection of songs they used as bumper music. ---
