Fuck! fuck fuck fuck!
22 - 18 now.
Fuck! fuck fuck fuck!
22 - 18 now.
Team 1–anybody out there? If it’s our turn to pick, I suggest names of automobiles.
*Daddy ran whiskey in a big black *Dodge
Bought it at an auction at the Mason’s Lodge
Copperhead Road - Steve Warner
Hmmm…Squish gives me an idea.
Could “fuck” be the next word?
Have we done that yet?
It’s Team 2’s call…
It’s not really Team 1’s turn to pick, but car names are good. Make or model, I think, should work well.
Team 2
*Little red Corvette
Baby you’re much too fast
Little Red Corvette - Prince
Team 1:
Have you heard the story of the hot rod race
Where the Fords and the Lincolns were setting the pace?
Hot Rod Lincoln - Commander Cody
Team2:
I got a sixty-nine Chevy with a 396
Fuelie heads and a Hurst on the floor
She’s waiting tonight down in the parking lot
Outside the Seven-Eleven store.
Springsteen – Racing in the Street
Team 1
A Change - Sheryl Crow
He’s a platinum canary, drinkin’ falstaff beer
Mercedes rule and a rented lear
Team 2 -
Katie Mae, The Grateful Dead
Now some folks say she must be a Cadillac
But I say she got to be a T-model Ford
Yeah she got the shape all right
But she just can’t carry no heavy load
Sorry, folks, but if the time limit’s two hours, then Team 2 lost that round to Team 1!
And if that’s the case, the standings are now:
Team 1: :D:):):):):):):):)
Team 2: :D:D:)
Or, 22-19 in Team 2’s favor.
So the new word is dance:
Team 1:
'Cause if your friends don’t dance
Then they’re no friends of mine
Safety Dance - Men without Hats
Team 2 -
Let It Grow, The Grateful Dead
What shall we say, shall we call it by a name?
As well to count the angels dancing on a pin
Uh, Squish, where did you learn to tell time, sweetie?
Nortia posted lyrics from Sheryl Crow’s A Change at 6:32 pm
Ripple posted lyrics from Katie Mae by the Dead at 8:00 pm
That’s 32 full minutes before the two hour limit would’ve come into effect.
The score remains:
Team 1: :):):):):):):)
(18)
Team 2: :D:D :) (22)
Team 1 has approximately one hour and twenty minutes to come up with a response in the ongoing thread, cars.
Hey, just checking in after an almost 24 hour hiatus. Got a bit burnt out on shoes yesterday and had to do some hefty work (the kind I get paid for, not this fun kind). Anyway, as a bit of a hijack, I was just wondering the other day, before Squish’s lovely post there, does Men without Hats refer to men who have been circumcised? Anyone know?
Now I’ll be looking forward to some nice posts from Ripple with Grateful Dead songs with the word dance, and an equal number from | Roger the Shrubber with Pink Floyd songs about dancing. I gets a bit chatty when I haven’t been posting in a while, sorry 'bout that.
And on preview, TLW, Squish was referring to the time between her (his?) post and Jack Batty’s.
Yep! See, I can so tell time–even if I do have to mentally adjust for the fact that Arizona’s not on DST.
Team 1:
With the record selection
And the mirror’s reflection
I’m a-dancing with myself
Dancing with Myself - Billy Idol
Team 2 -
Hell In A Bucket, The Grateful Dead
There may come a day I will dance on your grave
If unable to dance I will crawl across it
Team A
*yeah there was ham an’ there was turkey, there was caviar
an’ long tall glasses, with wine up to yar
an’ then somebody grabbed me, threw me outta my chair
said before you can eat, you gotta dance like Fred Astaire
I Can Dance, Leo Sayer
**Team 2 **
Saint Of Circumstance, The Grayeful Dead
I’m still walkin’
So I’m sure that I can dance
Mr. Bojangels - John Denver
And he shook his head now, he shook his head.
And I heard someone ask please
Mr. Bojangles, Mr. Bojangles, Mr. Bojangles, dance.
(Don’t worry, I’ll be back to posting lyrics to ska songs that no one has ever heard of in no time…)
Team 2 -
Throwing Stones, The Grateful Dead
So the kids they dance and shake their bones
And the politicians throwing stones
Singing ashes, ashes, all fall down
Well you look so fine,
and you seem so kind,
and I’ve got to say that I’m having a good time
dancing, dancing, dancing away.
Walking Away - Catch 22
(there, that’s more like it)
Team 2 -
The Music Never Stopped, The Grateful Dead
The corn’s a bumper crop
And the fields are full of dancing
Full of singing and romancing
