Great Ideas that Won't Happen

Damn, I saw the post and decided to just step in and say flat tax and flying cars. Derleth, your post made my brain hurt. I didn’t know caculators could be so complex!

I too was expecting a light-hearted OP, but it was so serious…

… screw the seriousness.

Here’s my great idea that won’t happen.

“Me, with Jessica Alba, Jennifer Lopez, and Jennifer Garner. Naked of course.”

Well, I thought it was a good idea.

Krispy Kreme home delivery.

National professional dodgeball league

It would be bigger then the NBA, NFL, MLB combined!

Automated cars. I expect people would always want to drive themselves, no matter how safe automated systems get.

I assume youve heard of the Dvorak keyboard?

How about all fast food as home delivery?
Probly cause I’d never walk off the fat and crap. Me and my friends walk to Taco Bell about every day, I shudder to think how we’re gonna look when we dont need to walk anymore.

It might, however, help in NH were the majority of the “highways” have only one lane in either direction, with no passing allowed for the most part. There’s nothing to get your blood pressure up faster on the way to work than being stuck behind a truck going 35 in a 55 for fifteen miles on route 16… I don’t understand why there are so many little highways(US routes) around here- Instead of counting sheep one night last week I decided to name off as many I could think of that pass within 20 miles of my house: after coming up with 16 I got bored eough to sleep.

  1. chopping off three fingers on each hand of convicted pedophiles (so you know who they are when you see them.)
  2. cars that drive underwater but don’t hurt the ecological balance of the ocean
  3. a pill that makes you instantly thin
  4. required “child-rearing” prep courses before you can have children
  5. making gazillionaire actors and entertainers give part of their wealth to “the people” that made them famous
  6. shortening the working day from 8am-5pm (or more) to 10am-3pm

Public transportation in America. There’s not enough of it. (Who wants to take a train to work if you have to spend 40 bucks on an unexpected cab ride in the middle of the day?) I think the only way we will ever see it is with financial incentives to build and use it.

Alternate energy sources. I live near Dallas, TX. It’s freakin’ hot here! It seems like a no-brainer to use solar energy. You may not like the looks of it on your house, but put it on apartment roofs. IMHO, a much lower electricity bill in the summer sounds like a good way to draw renters. (A local radio station is offering to pay your electricty bill for July in a contest)
