Great Jewish Athletes

Hardly a “great”, but Larry Zeidel.

I have heard that Eddie Shack, a fellow who didn’t cotton to ‘Jew boys’ playing hockey, used to beat him up.

Spy, yes. How successful he was has been called into question. IIRC, Nicholas Dawidoff, in his book *The Catcher was a Spy, points out that there’s not much evidence that Berg’s prewar photos of Tokyo were all that useful (or even used) in planning early bombing raids. Certainly Berg did work for the OSS during the war and was given some fairly important assignments, but he wore out his welcome within a few years after the war’s end, and the CIA declined to renew his contract after 1954.

It’s by Joel Samberg and is available at amazon.com (probably elsewhere too, but I haven’t checked)

It lists Jews in all types of sports, as well as other lists of and about Jews. Really interesting reading.
