Hi everyone!! I just have to say that Homer Simpson is one of our media’s greatest products of all time. If the Simpsons hadn’t switched from Bart centered shows to Homer centered shows in the early 90’s they would have been done for (now they are the longest running prime time show of all time). I can also relate to Homer in the way he thinks, he believes in himself and he doesn’t really care what others think of him (this can be a bad thing though). If they made Homer smarter or stupider the character just wouldn’t be right. They have a perfect balance in Homer. I’m also a lover of Simpson trivia, so if anyone else wants to test me, I’m game. I’ll take a crack before him. Homer sang he’d rather drink a beer than take care of his kids, or something to that effect, but I’ve only seen the Sheri Bobbins episode once. The jobs were: mathematician, a different kind of mathematician and a statiticisian (however the hell you spell it, he’s educated in the field of statistics! I’m not a native speaker, ok?). But I can’t for the life of me remember what it says in thw window, and I refuse to cheat and check… I know the shop is called something like “The Paranoid Android”, but what the HELL does the sign say again… _racking brain_ Anyway, I takes my Simpsons seriously. I once had an online IRC session where I invited people to join a channel and bombard me with questions from the Simpsons. After more than an hour I had only given up on one question, the others were all correct. But that was in my hayday, I’m currently missing the last one and a half series! _despiseshimself_ — G. FWIW–There’s a Simpson’s trivia game out now. I got it for my husband for Christmas. The questions range from level one (easy) to level five (difficult) and there’s a poster of most of the characters with a key that you use in some of the questions to either draw a character for someone to guess or play a “20 questions” type of game (with only 6 questions) and the other person has to guess who you’re thinking of. There’s a lot more than trivia to the game, but any Simpson’s freak would love it. I found out I know nothing about them and my husband knows more than I thought! Lisa’s middle name? Who knows that? Is it just me, or are the Homer-centric episodes getting worse? I mean, he’s turned totally one-dimensional, and I’ve found myself not even cheering for him anymore. Lisa’s middle name is Marie. ---

**False God** , you beat me on the Maison Derriere! It was Rev. Lovejoy’s father, of course, and I can still remember the dancers’ line at that point in the song: “Our skimpy costumes ain’t so bad/They seem to entertain your dad!” And the little beach town is something like Little Pwagamomsettport. It’s also known as America’s Scrod Basket, IIRC, and Homer also bought a bottle of Old Harper, a porno magazine, and a pregnancy test kit. But I cannot remember Flanders’ old job! ---

I, like a lot of you, take the Simpson’s so seriously, that my husband and I have begun fighting over the remote because he claims “I’ve watched it enough” BWAHAHAHAHAHAH…how can it be? I agree though, that Homer is not only a) getting dumber and dumber by the episode, but b) now realizes that he’s funny, and that’s a killer. My current favorite Homer quote is from the infamous “Jebus” episode. “Well, I don’t know much about God, but we sure built a nice cage for him” trivia? What famous cartoon signing was moved to the Springfield Coloseum (sp) ? jarbaby. ---

1. ??? WAG–Leonard Nimoy 2. Apu (on his 5 minute party break, from which he returns with a minute to spare) 3. WAG–Chief Wiggum? 4. Barney, handing out flyers 5. ??? Yeesh. And I thought I was a true Simpsons fan. My hubby also steals the remote from me, saying I’ve seen them all 5 times and I don’t need to see it again! We got Simpsons Clue for Christmas. Same as regular Clue but all the stuff is switched to Simpsons. (With Smithers as Mrs. White, complete in maid’s uniform.) The weapons are a poison donut, string of pearls, saxomaphone, inanimate carbon rod…can’t remember the others. Also, the Android’s Dungeon is one of the rooms and that was the first time I realized the name of the comic book shop. NOT a room: Moe’s Bar.
