If , for example, you’re baffled by **HIHOAG** , perhaps the way I’ve coded it will help you. Remember this one…C9H13N? \*The driver of the car, whose name was not released, told state officials in his application for the plate that the series of letters and numbers represented red food coloring, said Brad Benfield, spokesman for the state Department of Licensing. \* Also in the article, \*The Merck index, the bible of chemical formulas, lists methamphetamine as C10H15N. But at least two sites list C9H13N as the label for methamphetamine, according to the University of Washington’s chemistry department. C9H13N is the formula for hundreds of compounds, the department said, including amphetamine. On my way in to work today, I saw a pearl white PT Cruiser with the license plate MARSMALO (or MRSHMALO, can’t remember which). It…did, in fact, look like one. ---

I know the ones with pictures are called Rebus puzzles, but I’m not sure if the term can also be extended to these. ---

I’ve tried to note the good ones I’ve spotted: SREN-ITY (Serenity) WARSUX (War Sucks - on a car with a USMC sticker! That shouldn’t have surprised me, nobody hates war more than warriors.) C1AO 2TI (Ciao tu ti = “Hello you” in Italian) SPAZTIC (Spastic) 1NFIDEL (Infidel - on a “Fight Terrorism” license plate! :eek: ) NUM LOCK (As in the “Num Lock” key on a keyboard) METAD8A (Meta-data) AHOY HOY (Alexander Graham Bell’s proposed greeting for the telephone) PLAN AHD (Plan Ahead - but if the driver planned ahead he would have … ) ALWZ LA8 (Always late - needs to get with the “plan ahd” guy) ND2 RLAX (Need to relax - needs to get with the above 2 guys) HISXLNC (His excellency) TENAXTC (Tenacity?) BLND UMP (Blind umpire) Back when **Mama Zappa** was programming mainframes, she spotted this one: IEFBR14 (an old IBM mainframe instruction that does nothing) she laughed the whole way home! But the all-time computer geek classic is: FEATURE on a VW “bug”. As in, “It’s not a bug, it’s a feature!” 😃 ---
