This one from Pulp Fiction, the dysentery line kills me.

Captain Koons: The way your dad looked at it, this watch was your birthright. He’d be damned if any slopes gonna put their greasy yellow hands on his boy’s birthright, so he hid it, in the one place he knew he could hide something: his ass. Five long years, he wore this watch up his ass. Then when he died of dysentery, he gave me the watch. I hid this uncomfortable piece of metal up my ass for two years. Then, after seven years, I was sent home to my family. And now, little man, I give the watch to you.

Alas, the _Indianapolis_ speech has been one of the worst parts of that movie since I learned how inaccurate it is.

> [@IMDb "Goofs" page](#):
>
> Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): In Quint’s Indianapolis story, he says the ship was on its way back from delivering the atomic bomb, from the island of Tinian to Leyte. In fact, the Indianapolis, after having delivered a part of the bomb at Tinian, returned to Guam, where it lay over for two days before departing for its next mission to Leyte - an entirely separate mission. Further, Quint states that they didn’t see the first shark for half an hour. This is incorrect from statements of survivors, and especially considering the fact that the Indianapolis was hit by torpedoes at 12:02 a.m., July 30, 1945. Even at dawn, the men suffered photophobia from the sun reflecting off the oil which covered them and the water. Further, there was no shark attacks on day one after the sinking. Also, the statement by Quint that no distress signal was sent is wrong, since the Indianpolis, on a new mission after having successfully delivered its cargo to Tinian and returned to Guam, was no longer under radio silence and did indeed send a distress signal.

Came to share this one. Also, Walken’s other great Tarantino-scripted monologue from _True Romance_.
“You know, Sicilians, are great liars. The best, in the world. I’m Sicilian. My father was the world heavyweight champion of Sicilian liars. From growing up with him, I learned the pantomime. There are seventeen different things a guy can do when he lies, to give himself away. A guy’s got seventeen pantomimes. A woman’s got twenty, guy’s got seventeen. But, if you know them, like you know your own face, they’d be lie detectors all to hell. Now, what we got here, is a little game of show-and-tell: You don’t wanna’ show me nothing, but you’re telling me everything. I know you know where they are. So. Tell me. Before I do some damage, that you won’t walk away from.”

Let me tell you, Jack, that is gold. You listenin’ to me? And when that man walks in at the end of the day. And he comes to see how you done, you ain’t gonna look in his eyes. You gonna look at the floor. Because you don’t want to see that fear in his eyes when you jump up & grab his face, and slam him to the floor, and make him scream & cry for his life. So you look right at the floor, Jack. Pay attention to what I’m sayin’, motherfucker! And then he’s gonna look around the room - see how you done. And he’s gonna say “Oh, you missed a little spot over there. Jeez, you didn’t get this one here. What about this little bitty spot?” And you’re gonna suck all that pain inside you, and you’re gonna clean that spot. And you’re gonna clean that spot. Until you get that shiny clean. And on Friday, you pick up your paycheck. And if you could do that, if you could do that, you could be president of Chase Manhattan… corporations! If you could do that

Al Pacino in Glengarry Glen Ross:

Roma: All train compartments smell vaguely of shit. It gets so you don’t mind it. That’s the worst thing that I can confess. You know how long it took me to get there? A long time. When you die you’re going to regret the things you don’t do. You think you’re queer? I’m going to tell you something: we’re all queer. You think you’re a thief? So what? You get befuddled by a middle-class morality? Get shut of it. Shut it out. You cheated on your wife? You did it, live with it. You fuck little girls, so be it.There’s an absolute morality? Maybe. And then what? If you think there is, then be that thing. Bad people go to hell? I don’t think so. If you think that, act that way. A hell exists on earth? Yes. I won’t live in it. That’s me. You ever take a dump made you feel like you’d just slept for twelve hours?

"I want to ask you all to close your eyes while I tell you this story. I want you to listen to me, I want you to listen to yourselves. Go ahead, close your eyes please. This is a story about a little girl walking home from the grocery store one sunny afternoon. I want you to picture this little girl, suddenly a truck races up, two men jump out and grab her, they drag her into a nearby field and they tie her up, and rip her clothes from her body. Now they climb on, first one then the other… raping her…shattering everything innocent and pure with a vicious thrust in a fog of drunken breath and sweat. And when they’re done, after they killed her tiny womb, murdered any chance for her to bear children, to have life beyond her own, they decide to use her for target practice, so they start throwing full beer cans at her, they throw them so hard that it tears the flesh all the way to her bones, then they urinate on her. Now comes the hanging, they have a rope, they tie a noose, imagine the noose pulling tight around her neck and a sudden blinding jerk. She’s pulled into the air and her feet and legs go kicking and they don’t find ground. The hanging branch isn’t strong enough it snaps and she falls back to earth. So they pick her up throw her in the back of the truck and drive out to foggy creek bridge and pitch her over the edge and she drops some 30 feet down to the creek bottom below. Can you see her ? Her raped, beaten and broken body, soaked in their urine, soaked in their semen, soaked in her blood, left to die. Can you see her? I want you to picture that little girl.

“Now imagine she’s white.”

Awesome quote.

“The world is full o’ complainers. An’ the fact is, nothin’ comes with a guarantee. Now I don’t care if you’re the pope of Rome, President of the United States or Man of the Year; somethin’ can all go wrong. Now go on ahead, y’know, complain, tell your problems to your neighbor, ask for help, ‘n watch him fly. Now, in Russia, they got it mapped out so that everyone pulls for everyone else… that’s the theory, anyway. But what I know about is Texas, an’ down here… you’re on your own.”

[QUOTE=Duck You Sucker AKA Fistful of Dynamite]
Juan Miranda: I know what I am talking about when I am talking about the revolutions. The people who read the books go to the people who can’t read the books, the poor people, and say, “We have to have a change.” So, the poor people make the change, ah? And then, the people who read the books, they all sit around the big polished tables, and they talk and talk and talk and eat and eat and eat, eh? But what has happened to the poor people? They’re dead! That’s your revolution. Shhh… So, please, don’t tell me about revolutions! And what happens afterwards? The same fucking thing starts all over again!
