Great Tales of Revenge

Ranks of Bronze by David Drake. Any revenge tale that ends in the crucifixion of the original tormentor gets a thumbs up from me.

Haven’t seen the movie in a while, but wasn’t it the case that the attorney could have gotten the psycho acquitted, but hid the evidence that would have done so because he knew the psycho was actually guilty? Not to get into GD territory, but that’s an absolute no-no for a defense attorney. If nothing else, he should have excused himself from the case and let another atty. take over.

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, at least the Disney version with James Mason.

Pricness Bride, not the main story but that other one, you know the guy who says something like, “My name is Indigo Montenegro, you murdered my dad, now I will kill you” or something like that.

Sodom and Gomorrah?

Having done a bit of memory refreshing, I am 2/3 right and 1/3 wrong. In the original novel by John D McDonald, and in the 1962 original film, the lawyer does nothing wrong to justfy revenge. But in the 1991 remake, he does indeed make a purposeful error to get the guy sent away.

The original movie was also terrific, with Gregory Peck as the lawyer and Robert Mitchum as the psycho.

BTW, I highly reccommend the McDonald novel, titled The Executioner. It is quite brief but a great read.
