I’m pretty sure the animated film _Fantastic Planet_ has one or more of these in it - there is certainly a wide range of unusual-looking alien beasts. Can’t recall a specific one though, but I haven’t watched it in a while. ---

They’re going to film Dan Simmons’ _Hyperion_; I wonder if they’ll show the scene where the hot warrior chick Moneta turns into the barbed and thorny Shrike while Kassad is boinking her. He gets away by, IIRC, “a moist millimeter”. ---

There’s also **Predator** , in which a group of sweaty, half-naked musclemen with enormous weapons are picked off one by one by an invisible alien hunter which finally unmasks itself to reveal a, um, pussy for a face. I’m hoping this isn’t much of a spoiler, but I always thought the closet doorway at the end of Poltergeist looked a little strange. It’s when everything is back to “normal” and then stuff starts happening again. The mom has just taken a bath and the kids are in their room and then the doorway starts going crazy and there’s this fleshy looking tube inside. Y’all remember that? ---

In **Alien** , the ship itself (“Mother”) packs that imagery. Deltoid-shaped interior doors, dark, moist, scary corridors and ductwork, within which lurks a very toothy monster… The original blob in **The Blob** is pretty symbolic. All these teenage boys and men are encountering the blob (I don’t recall precisely, but does the blob kill any women or girls in the entire movie?) and getting consumed… by this amorphous, flexible, fleshy, pink, all-devouring blob. And aren’t the alien-looking pod stage props in \*\*This Is Spinal Tap \*\* also pink? It would have to be the mustached bass player who gets [temporarily] trapped, too, wouldn’t it? The others were either too ambiguously masculine or, like the drummer, implicitly doomed, anyway. And how about Audrey in **Little Shop of Horrors**? Flowers have always been symbolic of the feminine, and in fact are botanical sexual organs (or, technically, they house the sexual organs). Then there’s the massive, tentacled, turbo-powered and very toothy undersea monsters in [Deep Rising](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118956/). One character got gulped whole, then was freed later when his colleagues destroyed the tentacle he was in, and the poor, dying, agonized, and half-digested guy experiences a grisly rebirth of sorts on the ship floor. And poor Wes Studi (who played the bad guy who gets it at the end) – his character got noshed feet-first, and way too slowly for comfort. ---

Two more: – the “graboids” from **Tremors** , which manage to suggest both the phallic and vaginal. – the whole temple/tunnel complex that Indiana Jones raids for a golden idol [symbolically, maidenhead] in the first Indiana Jones movie. ---

There’s a really bad 1991 film called [Steel and Lace](http://imdb.com/title/tt0100688/), about a woman who’s gang-raped and commits suicide when her assailants are acquitted. Her brother, a mechanical genius, builds a robot that looks exactly like her to exact revenge on the rapists. At least one of them is done in when the robot lures him into a tryst and then basically turns on her vaginal buzzsaw. ---
