Primordial. Not descended from anything. A joke that is not derivative in the least. A joke that shows there’s this whole are of humor nobody’s thought of exploiting before.

Andy Kaufman did seem to goof on people in a fresh way, it was new, it was entertaining, it was funny (at first), then it got old.
