I wonder if anybody ever committed suicide due to earworms. I can sure understand if they have. I get it bad, so bad that I’ve built up an extensive library of successive antidotes to earworms, each of which became the new earworm. I’ll leave an example here, Dissidenten’s Sahara Elektrik, which I was stuck with for three months. It’s very beautiful (IMO) in a very quirky way. I listened to about three seconds of it just now, to confirm sound quality, that’s all I dared risk. (The link may not be right, at work, so not checking the video search results, just took the most likely-looking one. Plus, no way do I want to be infected with that particular earworm merely to contribute to this thread, it’s very potent.) A comedian had a riff about how potent an earworm it is, you think you have it out of your head, and then just the slightest word will set it off again. You could be at the store: “Hey, thanks!” Thanks, bo banks … Dammit! Dammit, bo bammmit … stop, stop bo bop … I do believe I have won. ---
