I always thought the “Hallelujah” sequence in Shrek was really brilliant. I must have replayed that scene a hundred times when the DVD first came out.

This scene makes me a little weepy.

Also, I like the not-terribly-well-sung, not terribly-well-played acoustic version of _Moon River_ by Audrey Hepburn in _Breakfast at Tiffany’s_. Her skills might not have been top-notch, but boy, could you feel what she was feeling when she sang that song.

> The film opens just after a plane crash. It follows the survivors. Throughout the film, Jeff Bridges is suffering form PSTD. He takes crazy chances with his life and he has a few flashbacks to this scene but it isn’t till the end of the film that we see it in all it’s glory while Jeff Bridges is suffering an allergic reaction to eating a strawberry, which he knows he is allergic to them.

Now I have to watch the whole movie. Pretty powerful scene.

[non nobis domine](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1GDRx-F1C0) from Henry V by Patrick Doyle. The music underlying the [“we few, we happy few”](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-yZNMWFqvM) speech is pretty good too.

This.

Previously it had been sort of a tie between [Motherless Child](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KiJx1Hbn_KM) by Paul Robison and the Red Army Choir and Orchestra doing [Polyushka Polye.](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrZNaLDaQw0)

I have to admit I also really like Huun Huur Tu singing [Chira Xur](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xiraiG_Rwok).

I’ve always loved the scene in **Zulu** when the British soldiers respond to the Zulus’ war song with a rendition of Men of Harlech.

Lonette McKee as a fictionalized version of Lena Horne [singing _Ill Wind_ in _The Cotton Club_](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3kpIFqPw3g). Amazing vocal performance.
