Forgot to ask earlier: what are the merits of Caesar Augustus’s and Gaius Julius Caesar’s claims to be the greatest national leader of Rome?
Julius - massive conquests in Spain and France, Rome’s greatest general, Triumvir, civil reform, laid the foundations for his nephew. Without Julius, there would have been no Augustus.
Augustus - ended 100 years of civil ‘competition’, introduced the Imperium, stabilised the Empire - meaning the whole of the Med - and reorganised Roman government, became Emperor. He ushered in an age the effects of which are with us today.
Which is the greater depends upon how you value generalship.
Might be too late…
Washington - 3
Ramses II - 2 - I’m stubborn.

Although it has nothing to do with how this game is “scored,” on a whim I compared survivors with their nominators. Two rounds ago, Simplicio was leading with three of the nine finalists due to him. Elindil’s Heir was second with two. Now, with only seven leaders left, Simplicio is still first with two, and there are five tied at one each (Elindil’s Heir, Quartz, Tom Scud, XanderCrews, and the present poster).
(I won’t jinx myself by naming my pony in this race, but am surprised he’s gotten this far. He was whacked early in the 100 Influential Game.)
