That was great! We played Killer while I was in High School/University but we limited ourselves to the Star Trek Tracer guns exclusively to limit any damage to property and allow you to reload from your unfortunate victim’s gun. It’s amazing how much distance you could get by stretching or substituting the springs for something a little more “substantial”. My best shot was about 35 ft away in one of the common areas. We had to stop after we scared the crap (possibly literally) out of some poor engineering student using one of the underground tunnels late one Friday night when he came around the corner with an armload of books and caught a tracer in the head… Thanks for the story! ---

Welcome back! Had to check for zombification. I was 10 th-to-last to go in a 150+ participant game, water pistols only. While dorm rooms were safe, no rules about being shot _from_ your dorm room. Turns out cutting holes in dorm-room doors for this purpose not ok with the college, though. ---

He’s back! He’s back! Damnit, how did I miss this last night? He’s back! \ You have been missed, and wow, what an EPIC way to announce your return. I played a version of Killer in college, too; however, our games were restricted to one building (with some twisty passages), with the lights out, after midnight when the rest of the school was asleep. Also, we used soft balls (no, NOT softballs) for ammo. Each of us had 2, and we played in teams. Good times. ---

And the story is true, sort of; it incorporates the high points from about three different games of Killer, though… ---

And there was _MUCH_ rejoicing… YAAY!!! Nice to see you back, KA We had a squirt gun war initiated a few years back when I worked for Small Dog Electronics in VT, one of the techs handed out cheap mini squirt guns to all us techs, and we were permitted to shoot as long as there were no machines being worked on, mainly you were at risk any time you didn’t have a machine in front of you… One of the head techs (Troy) was a notorious assassin, spent more time with the squirt gun than actually performing repairs, and it annoyed me, I was able to avoid getting blasted and that annoyed him (the simple act of carrying around a small piece of electronics and having a busy expression helps), I had had enough… That night, I went to the local toy store, and bought one of those compact, but high pressure Super Soakers, loaded it up, and hid it in my backpack… The next morning, I went in, set up at my workbench, my back to the door, but with a CRT iMac positioned so I could see reflections in the darkened picture tube, set my bag in front of me, and put the Super Soaker in the parts tray directly below the bench, within easy reach… Troy would be coming in to make the “kill”, I knew it, he already blasted two other techs that morning… All I had to do was wait… …I heard him walk in, close the door, in the reflection in the monitor, I see him reach for his squirt gun… …I calmly reach under my bench, grab the Super Soaker, and without even looking back at him, swing the SS around, pointing directly at him… “Okay MacTech, I give up, you win!”… Yes, once again, peace is restored through superior firepower (water power?), my co-workers learn quickly to not get into a competition with me, I play dirty, and am quick to escalate up the force continuum… ---

You did not know who had your name. At least, not till he tried to kill you. If you drew your own name, you put it back and drew another; suicide is far less dramatic in action movie fashion than a crazed hunt with water pistols. And we may have been assassins, but we were gentlemen: the only legal target was your designated target. Civilians could get you disqualified, and non-legal targets who were players simply failed to die. Not that it was illegal to hose them until they dripped… ---
