# Grotonian has been banned

Grotonian has been banned.

He was [suspended for a month](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=769509&highlight=grotonian) in September after receiving four warnings and a number of notes in a six-month period, including for trolling and failure to follow moderator instructions.

Now, less than a month after his return, he essentially [trolled and derailed a thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=775150), and then claimed he thought it was permissible to do so since others could just [“post around”](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=18860376&postcount=26) the hijack. Even after receiving a mod note telling him to take it elsewhere, he returned to get in a last word, earning him [his fifth warning since March of this year](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=18868950&postcount=85).

After discussion in the loop, it was clear that there was not going to be any change in his behavior, thus earning the banning.
