Prompted by the thread **[here](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=477866)**, I thought I’d ask Doper’s what tunes are likely to get them moving in a party situation? I know the variety of people we have on the board will probably ensure the results are all over the place, but I’m still interested in what other folks like to dance to. Btw, I’ve got the natural rhythm of a plank of wood, but when those strobe lights are flashing, everyone looks good…apart from the epileptics. Here are a few of my faves. **1. Back By Dope Demand - King Bee 2. I Need A Rhythm - 28th Street Crew 3. Dreams Of Santa Ana - Orange Lemon 4. Groove Is In The Heart - Dee-lite 5. Don’t Scandalise Mine - Sugarbear** ---

Since dancing for me is some sort of hopping up and down (and sometimes side to side), I’d go with bouncy songs like “I Only Want to Be with You” Hootie and the Blowfish That hip-hop one with “Let me clear my throat” “I’ve Got the Power” ---

**"Don’t Stop til You Get Enough"** by Michael Jackson - This song used to make me wish I was MJ just so I could do those moves. **White Lines** - Grandmaster Flash and Mel E Mell - I’ll always remember me and 3 friends dancing in sync to this in a club, and thinking we were the dog’s bollocks! And for a minute and half until our timing went pear-shaped, I bet we looked pretty good too. 😃 Keep 'em coming, girls…and boys. p.s. I like Snap’s “The Power” too, but I’ve got no dancing memories for that, I’m afraid ---
