[Note: the data has changed, even while I was typing this.] With 18 sets of data, I’ve done the following calculations: The median age is 32, the mean age is 31.73611, the min is 17, Q1 is 23, Q3 is 41, the max is 52, and the standard deviation is 10.78. For guesses, I’ve made actual ages an explanatory variable and the guesses response. Y hat is, then, 9.26+.73x. There is a really decent corrolation, too, with r=.848. However, there are a couple of outliers that really make it a better linear progession. Removing just one, (17,33) (the guess of FlyingRamenMonster’s age) leaves us with an LSRL at y hat = 5.289 + .8319x, with an r of .908. That’s pretty good, I’d have to say. Good guesses! As for me, I show up in a lot of age threads, so if people recognize this name they probably recognize my round about age. Still, I’ll give you a hint, keeping it in line with statistics. Assuming a standard normal distribution, and supposing I live to be one hundred, I am now the precentage of my life that is associated with a z score of -.91. Eighteen ---

The first computer I ever used was an Apple IIGS, the first I owned ran Windows 3.0, I remember the original Nintendo, and if I really strain my memory, I can remember the last of the old Ataris and a toy record player I had with an _Alvin and the Chipmunks_ 45. I am 23. ---
