Fun thread. Just a suggestion, when you answer one, include the original clue, not just the number. The clues are (of course) so obscurely worded, that dummies like me don’t recall them when the answer is given. I am wasting valuable seconds scrolling back up to see what the answer answers. I assumed, “15) A man considers giving up the family business, but his hand is forced after a rival firm attempts a hostile takeover” was…_It’s a Wonderful Life_, not _The Godfather_. ---

Very nicely done, Stratocaster’s Wife. 1. A writer has an affair with a dishonest actress in one of his productions while attempting to win a wager. 2. A family is repeatedly thwarted in their efforts to reach a promised land in California. 3. An unwilling musician must play matchmaker while extricating himself from a tough situation. 4. A local theatrical star is threatened by a new rival, but soon must come to their rescue when the new rival faces death. ---
