[/QUOTE] It is known that it’s not an American movie and made between 1977 and 1990, so it’s significantly after the era and outside the area of the Hollywood blacklist. I’ll go ahead and waste the last question. Did the actors vocalize in any way, such as grunts and groans, a fictional language, shouting, etc.? ---

[/QUOTE] Sorry, when I thought of that question I was remembering **tdn** ’s synopsis of the answers so far (1965-1990, not that he’s to blame for my question) and not the subseqent question narrowing it down further. However, the director I was thinking of was blacklisted, made films in another country after that up until 1980, and only died in 2008. I was thinking of a mis-remembered, language-wise, _Rififi_, which had minimal dialogue, by Jules Dassin. Carry on. I’m dying to know what your answer is. ---

_Le Dernier Combat_ (English: _The Last Combat_) directed by Luc Besson, his first feature. In a post-Apocalyptic world with air so polluted humans can no longer speak, sand dunes burying skyscrapers, and fish raining from the sky, a lone man struggles to survive against gangs, thugs, and the elements.
