Over in the Pit, there’s [a thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=111693) whose OP shows the status “Guest” (as opposed to “Member” or “BANNED” or something more familiar).
What’s up with that?

“Du” is the familiar auf Deutsch. “Sie\_hat” might be more appropriate in the circumstances für gastposter.

I don’t know for sure. It looks to me like Du\_Hast changed his e-mail address but after the change he never replied to (or perhaps never received) the confirmation e-mail. But I’m surprised that doing something like that would change your member status to Guest.
Also, in case you feel ignored - it can happen for some questions that the moderators or administrators don’t want to explain in public, or even at all. In that case, instead of bumping the thread, I would e-mail a staff member privately.
