# Guhh, I'm going to try again. I have worked a set schedual for some years now. I worked the 4;30 am shift exclsively for quite some time. I have worked every shift and earned my day shifts and at first was the only person who wanted to work that shift. I started getting it nibbled down to one day a week because others with more pull than I have realized it’s nice to get out of work by noon. What day did I get left with you may ask? Well Saturday of couse. Anyway, I checked the schedule Sunday which I don’t usualy do, 'cause yeah, Set Schedule. Anyway, I see somehwo I am now working 19 am to 4 pm. The person in my place in the 4,30 spot why. I thought maybe he requested it so he could so something later. Nope apparently the assistant manager told him, “Things are changing and I need a stroger worker at that time” grrr First; If she has a problem with my work ethic she should discuss it with me. What she souldn’t do is give my shift away and tell my co-worker in so many words that I’m a “weak worker” Second; If her overnighter would do his job instead of playing with his phone half the night, I would have a lot less to catch up on. Third: If my six o’clock would not hang in the back room for half an hour, chatting with the deli person and texting off and on all morning, I might just get more done. Also, this 6 am person does the paperwork, and takes 3 hours instead of the 1 to 1/ ```auto **type or paste code here** ``` ---

Im having trouble with the reply box. I’m going to just wind this up by saying this sort of crap has happened with this manager before. Our store manager has a family emergency keeping her away from the store for a while. When Store manager was gone for months with a broken ankle. Assistant decided to “fix” the stuff she feels are “wrong”. I am going to address this with this manager because I’m pretty sick of this crap. I always said when the store manager decides to retire (she’s 1 year older than I am) that I won’t stay tpp much longer. I wrote a pointed and passive aggressive post on the store fb page. Won’t make things better, may make them worse. It made me feel sooo good. ---

She is not a manager, but someone who does paperwork. I really can’t remember her job title, but no one is going to kick her butt. Anyway, the assistant manager did call me today, and told me that they thought I would like that shift as I could be in the cooler the whole time (I really hate standing on register for a slew of reasons). I can stay in there pretty much the whole shift and I she said I could leave at noon for a few min. she also apologized to me for not calling/talking to me. I did not tell her about the “stronger” person on that shift. I did not because I’m pretty sure that would have been throwing my co-worker who told me about it under the bus. I like him, he’s a good kid. Anyway, on the whole, I’m OK with how it turned out. I guess I’ll count not having to get up at 4 AM anymore as a net gain. I was just really angry at the lack of communication and respect. My store manager’s husband is thankfully getting better. I suspect she may not return no matter how things pan out with his health. She’s a wonderful person and I hope she doesn’t lose him. As for me, we’ll see how things proceed as to whether I stay much longer or not. I’m trying to get my car paid off. You are correct though, someone should kick those people’s butts. Not my circus not > Blockquote my monkeys anymore. 😉 ---

Wellll, as for being in the cooler the whole time: ha! That didn’t and probably won’t happen. We are a stupid busy store and they keep trying to run the place with almost no one there. For no reason I can really comprehend we are the only gas station/party store that delivers. Do we have dedicated delivery drivers? Why no we don’t someone who is signed into a register, gathers the order and delivers it. Leaving the store with three people plus the deli worker. The shift I’m working is called “float”. I am supposed to do shift duties including cooler. That entire five our shift I probably did an hour in the cooler. I was glued to the register; I couldn’t even take a drink of my pop because we had 4 and 5 person lines all afternoon. Just what I wanted. If I could afford it I’d finally totally retire. ETA: I, obviously, don’t write much anymore. I swear to work on punctuation and paragraphing. ---

Sounds like you should be looking for a new employer. If you’re gonna do it, don’t dally – unemployment is at historic lows, but it’s not likely to stay that way for much longer as the fed tries to rein in inflation. ---

I probably should, but because of life’s complications, I just don’t have the energy to look right now. I’ve been there 16 years and I guess inertia is a thing for me. I did fill out an application, but haven’t heard anything back so I gut it out a while longer or overcome my issues and find something else.
