In response to a suggestion by **An Arky** in [this thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?p=10012730&posted=1#post10012730) , this is a thread in which guitar players are encouraged to post links to pictures of their guitars.

Niiice, **Croatalus**! So, um, what’s your address and what time are you normally away from home? 😃
I’ll try to do some pics later, but in the meantime, here’s a cheesy YouTube video featuring my main guitar, an ‘02 Rickenbacker 330 in Burgandy-Glo, with the added bonus of me a) sounding like a hick because I’d been a drankin’ and b) looking like I weigh 300 pounds due to a fan billowing my shirt (it was supposed to be billowing my hair, 80s power ballad-style, damnit!), oh, and c) random shots of people hovering over a dessert table…

My number 1 guitar; the one that has taught me the most about tone, playability and what it means to own and play a truly magic guitar (they are out there). Named after the cat in the picture because both are demanding diva bitches who purr when you treat them the right way. 🆒
- [1957 Gibson Les Paul Special](http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n86/WordMan567/1957LPSpecial-bodyfront.jpg) - my “but I really want to have one cool vintage guitar” guitar. Traded for it for a couple of First Edition books - I actually came across a guy who is a dealer in two things: vintage guitars and rare books, my two passions. It was my destiny to work a deal with him!
- [My Parts-o-Tele](http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n86/WordMan567/Finished-Body.jpg) - I found someone’s failed Parts-o-Caster languishing in a local music store, selling for a fraction of what the parts were worth. It had a couple of parts I was looking for, so I bought it and swapped everything else out including the body and electronics, had the neck re-shaped, etc. My main gigging guitar because I have virtually nothing in it and it’s a Tele - the super-versatile “Plank” that is good for anything…

What’s that array of stuff on the body of that one six-string? Are those individual transducers?

It’s a [Babicz Guitar](http://www.babiczguitars.com/dreadnought_rosewood.shtml) and has the strings going across the whole top of the soundboard. It’s a really nice, booming sound . The guitar also has an adjustable height for the strings by the turn of a screw on the back without going out of tune. It’s a gimmicky guitar for sure, but I actually like it.

What - my hints weren’t obvious enough? 😉
I was going to ask stpauler about the Babicz, too - I have played a bunch; I hate the ones with synthetic tops (because I am a complete snob and issues with synthetic guitar tops is my problem and I understand that (takes a breath and repeats this mantra)) but I love the sound of the ones with natural tops. That anchoring system for the strings definitely changes the vibration of the top…I don’t think of them as gimmicky - I accept the design as legitimate but different.
If I was allowed to expand my guitarsenal (ANY excuse to get that word into a post! 😛 ) I would definitely consider one…

Don’t I know it. Even a crush on Gracie can’t quench my desire. But let’s face it, that’d be like one of Bridget Bardot’s dogs going to the owner of a Pyongyang deli. I can’t do that to such a beautiful guitar.

Dude, if we had to live up to our guitars in advance I’d still be playing my Harmony Rocket. Getting a better guitar elevates your aspirations, makes you a better player as a result. Yeah, that’s the ticket.
