First of all, it’s probably exactly someone like GusNSpot who bitched out my mom for daring to hang an Indian flag next to the American flag, even though we had hung the Indian flag lower. There is a certain contingent of people who have an extraordinary attachment to the flag. Secondly, I just wanted to add to the chorus that “good old boys” can rot in hell. This is the Pit, right? Good Old Boys have driven this country to the brink of bankruptcy and they need to step aside and let some younger, smarter folks run the place. ---

That’s one thing about this country that we do better than almost anyone else, and when anyone tries to limit that freedom it tells me they don’t understand “freedom” like they think they do. Are Canada and the UK, for example, substantially limited in freedom then? I realize that the line between complete free speech and a slippery slope to fascism is perhaps a finer line than people would care to believe, but do you really think that laws limiting the most egregious acts of hate speech are bad? I know I’d feel better if we didn’t have to put up with backwater shitstains on the news telling me how much faggotry god will not put up with. ---
