I just caught [this band](http://www.gutweb.com/shows.html) at a little place in Skidsville, east of Little Tokyo last night. I’d never heard of them before, but according to one review they are a mash of “free jazz, jam band rock, funk, heavy metal, and more.” What the heck, I figure…no plans for a Friday night and it sounds mildly intriguing; besides, they’re only a few blocks down from 107, where the Suicide Girls contingent hangs out, which is always a fun time. The venue kind of sucked and it was definitely underpromoted (only about a dozen people there) but these guys were great! This was only their second time playing in LA, and they commented that its hard to find a stage (not much in the way of jazz clubs left, sob) but I could see them playing an indie rock-type of joint like Sliverlake Lounge or somesuch.

Anybody else heard of them?

Wow, nobody? And I thought my tragically hip credibility died when I admitted that I thought Sheryl Crow was “pretty good.”
