Recently my handsome husband told me that sometimes - and not even terribly rarely - women hair stylists will kind of lean in and press against his back as they cut his hair. You know what I’m saying? \*\*\*With their breasts. \*\* \*

I was GOBSMACKED. I’m sorry about the screamy all caps thing, but I don’t know how else to express my amazement. I was all slack-jawed, “They do what?!” To clarify, he’s not referring to an accidental brush-up, but deliberate lingering contact.

I asked a male friend about this, and he confirmed it (with a rather self-satisfied smirk, I might add).

Are these fellas feeding me a line? Does it amuse them/inflate their manly egos to tell the little woman that the girl cutting their hair likes to ease her tits against them, or is it really true? Women who cut hair, do you do this? And if so, why? What’s in it for you? (“The tip,” says my husband. “Public service” says my friend.)

And if it does happen, why on earth are male barbers still in business?

BTW, I’m not jealous or offended or anything - I’m certainly not going to forbid my husband from going to a female stylist, for instance. And if you cut hair and like the guy in the chair or need the extra tip or whatever, hey, go for it. I really don’t care, I’m just amazed. Anyone got the straight dope for me?

(And also BTW - isn’t it interesting how different men and women are? I mean, if a male hairstylist pressed any of his naughty bits against \*me \* while I was getting my hair cut, I’d be on the phone to the damn police. But both hubby and friend had a certain pleased gleam in their eyes.)

My female hairdressers have always done this, and I’m a woman. Probably because they need to lean to reach (I’m kinda tall). Likely the same reason that your husband’s does it.

\<shrug\> Yeah, it happens. But it’s not a sex thing; it’s a body-position thing–depending on where you are and where she is, sometimes you’re end up with a boob or two pressed against your back or shoulder. Hell, in Pilates class or while getting a massage I often end up with my arm or leg firmly pressed against someone’s boobs, but I have no illusion that that’s a sex thing either. (And anyway, if I did try making something of it, those women are perfectly capable of ripping me apart if they wanted.)

I suppose I have had it happen but I never thought it was all that intentional. I have had female hairstylists also push their crotch against my elbow as it was resting off of the armrest. I am pretty sure that was intentional at least one time.

My husband’s stylist definitely does. He goes to the salon he does now because I started going there and suggested he check it out. All the ladies are pretty nice looking and dress a little provacatively, and it’s just a pretty nice place in general. One thing I noticed was the extra attention I received, and I certainly noticed the extra attention the men around me received.
Once he started going, he’s never gone anywhere else. He definitely gets that gleam in his eyes before his appointment. It’s too cute.

She gives him scalp massages, temple massages, trims his eyebrows, and definitely leans in reaaally close while cutting his hair.

Yes, it happens without being intentional, but as many times as I’ve been in that salon, it’s pretty easy for me to notice that extra bit of lingering on the lady’s part, particularly when the client is handsome (and a lot of them are.)

What **Ginger** says, except that I’m male, and I should also mention that I’ve had male hairdressers find it necessary to press themselves against me in a comparable manner. I think they’re pretty much exclusively focused on hair and my body sometimes gets in the way of their access.

Yes, both breasts and crotch have been pressed against me while getting a haircut. I never thought it was anything sexual–since I’m tall, I assume it helps them reach my head better. Hmmm…but then there was that one time when I was getting my hair washed and two perky breasts were shaking directly over my face. It didn’t do much for me, though, since I’m gay and almost blind without my glasses. Hope she wasn’t expecting a better tip!

Male and female, bust/chest and crotch. I’m taller than the average Indian, so they do have to reach out a bit with me.

With the males, I’ll shift a little to minimise contact.

Note: to avoid embarrassment in such situations, do NOT take the opportunity to vigorously polish your spectacles while your hands are concealed beneath the shawl.

I doubt height has anything to do with it. They just jack you up to the heighth they want your head anyway. I agree with the thought that it’s just that they want to get in for a good look, and don’t think about it much.

One time though when I was about 13 there was this really cute cutter, who was short. everytime she leaned in she pretty much stradled the arm of the chair. Under the tent thing, she didn’t realize she was setting her crotch right on my palm. I sat there frozen like a rock for what seemed like forever until she moved, because I was so afraid of what she would think if I moved my hand and let it known she had be resting on it. Hehe the horror’s of being 13.

Absolutely. It’s one of the few things I miss since i started _clipping_ my own hair (#7 everywhere but tapered over the ears). Tits on your back really ain’t worth the $8.00\*, especially after you get married 😉

There was even a Beavis and Butthead episode dedicated entirely to the _phenomenon_. Todd ended giving them really bad haircuts and tossing them out on their faces.
\*\* I used to pay $80 for a guy to do it though \*

I’ve noticed this. With some stylists I think it is just incidental, but I definitely think some “linger.”

My HAIR, he didn’t cut, bleach or tone my back. And he didn’t have any titties but… but…

Actually, tall people would need to be jacked down, and sometimes the chairs only go that low.

Ditto.

Although, I have always really crushed on my hairstylists. Each time I’ve moved one of the hardest parts about adjusting to the new life was having to find a new hairstylist, but I always manage to find someone really good who I end up totally crushing on. It’s intimate contact with someone who’s _taking care_ of you. So, although I’ve never interpreted my stylist pressing up against me as a sexual advance, I always enjoy it nonetheless.

But here’s what I really dig (POSSIBLE TMI!!!): I kinda have an armpit fetish. Give me a woman in a sleeveless blouse _reaching_ for something and I’m all smiles! My hairstylist almost never wears sleeves. As I lay back in the chair and she leans over me to shampoo my hair . . . Hot Damn! I’m in Heaven!!!

Count me in the “It happens, sure, but it always appears to be incidental contact” camp. I have had a wide variety of haircutters, most of them female, and almost all of them have had their breasts/crotch contact my body during the haircut.

I have to say, though, that neither sensation is particularly pleasing to me under the circumstances. I find haircut places to be less than erotic. I can understand that a woman might enjoy the feeling of having her crotch pressed against someone, but I have a hard time imagining that pressing their breasts against someone is particularly enjoyable for them.
