Hm. That could very well be. But if that’s the case, he did still utter such a thing in public.

> Another fun and related question, although far, far less life-threatening, is the “this or this” question. “Should I wear this or this?” The best part about it is that I’m clearly being used as a rule-out kind of thing. Almost inevitably, the one I picked goes back in the closet.

I love me that question. When it goes back, then you start the no-way-out-Larry-David argument.

“What’s wrong with what I picked out?”
“I didn’t even CARE about what you wore, they were both fine!!”
“I picked that one because you asked! I have no preference one way or the other.”
“Of course I think you’re attractive!”
“Well, at least you didn’t wear that OTHER dress It makes your ass look…”

Of course not, Hawkeye. 😛

My wife has been losing weight since last September. There’s a backlash here, cause I have not been. At all. Which is FINE with me right now. However, she comes fishing an awful lot for comments and compliments. I am glad for her that she likes how she looks, and feels better about herself.

Would I ever say to her, " Um, that outift, does it…I mean…you’re wearing that out of the house?? ". Nope. Me, I like living and stuff.

First time I heard it was spoken by [Goober Pyle on the Andy Griffith Show](http://www.tvacres.com/char_pyle_goober.htm) (the quote is also on that page). Can’t say that was the origin, though. That was, what, early 60’s?

This is operating on the premise that my husband would notice anything more subtle than the binary dressed/undressed. I put on 65lbs (I started at 120, so yeah, you could tell) I would beg him to tell me how I looked, he never budged.

This is the same guy who plucked a grey hair from my head and said “Wow, youth went right out the window” Yes, he’s alive, and not allowed to divorce me. He has alot of built up credit for not weirding out during my pregnancy until my boobs sprung leaks. That and no matter what configuration my body has been in in the last 11 years, he has never lost his enthusiasm for me.

It’s a complete waste of time for me to wear anything sexier than white cotton panties, either I’m dressed or not. If I’m dressed, he wants me undressed and if I’m undressed, he wants me.

He’s also color blind. We have a saying, our daughter is cute, but her daddy dresses her funny.
