I don’t like flip flops or sandals on guys. I’m not crazy about them on women unless she has a nice pedicure. There are few fashion faux pas worse than bare feet with unruly nails and callouses. I would never say anything, but I do have an internal fashion police force that notices these things. However, it really only bothers me to the extent that I would not date a flip flop wearing guy. I wouldn’t be interested in a sweatpants-wearing guy either (they are usually the same guy). Some girls like it or don’t mind the ultra-casual look, but I’m not one of them. I think a man should wear real shoes and real clothes (yes, my idea of real), anything else looks ridiculous. We had this cute temp last summer and he was great except that he wore flip flops every day, no matter the pants. I could never take him seriously because of that, all I could think is that he was going home to jam out to some Dave Matthews and burn one. Lol., he probably was, and he probably had a cute flip flop wearing chica to burn one with him. Still, I would have loved to see him in some Doc Martens. The image he projected with the flops was just not one I could get on board with. ---
