**Darwin,** were you around for 9/11? If not, then you missed out on all the threads where women were just going _insane_ about how turned on they were by all the firemen and cops and emergency workers. There was one picture of a dirty, smoky fireman walking out of a building carrying a baby out of a building and I swear ten Doper women called moving companies… And this was just from looking at pictures of what were, otherwise, just a bunch of dirty, sweaty ordinary guys… ---

Ok, I’ll spill the beans. The ultimate turn-on for all women is men who post to the SDMB. Some stuff in general: Eye contact and being an “active listener”. Being a kind person. It’s a real buzz kill to have a person who’s doted on you all night turn and rip into a waiter or a salesclerk. My own odd preferences: A a guy with a lame, pun filled sense of humor. ---

Somethings which are atypical of what most women like - I love feminine men. So don’t give up hope and feel free to embrace your girly side! It isn’t a turn off to all of us women! I also love men who aren’t from wealthy families. That’s right, money is a turn off for me unless you’ve earned it yourself. Short men - I think 5’7 is a very nice height. Guys who are good at something physical. Doesn’t have to be anything specific, but watching a man _work_ is a turn-on. Even if he’s just playing pool…as long as he’s good at it, I find it sexy. ---

Well, since it was originally my threat that started all this: things that turn me on (on a temporary, short term, hourly relationship which I have had since I was single): good looks, broad shoulders, great legs, leaving the top three buttons undone, dancing slow with arms around my neck, resting on my shoulders… Things on a long term: broad shoulders, strong arms, great hands (see other post), gotta be a tradesman versus office, great legs, long kisses without trying to suck my face off…eyes that look right at me, straight and long… ---
